THE REDEEMER MAGAZINE- The Magazine for Thinking Christians.
EDITION 41 : VOLUME 84 - New Covenant Allegiance
Foreword: This article is basically a commentary concerning the editor's allegiance to the New Covenant. It is entitled "Adamantly Pledging Allegiance to the New Covenant". If the focus of religion is not on the New Covenant how are we to enjoy the fruits thereof? A new and better Covenant God made with His people is what its all about. Are we to let let Jesus' death be in vain because tradion is blinding our eyes to the New and better Covenant. Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Adamantly Pledging Allegiance to the New Covenant.
****Editorial by Dr. Otis T. Williams Sr. Th. D. -Editor/Publisher-****
6: But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. Romans 7:6.
Wake up people. Please wake up. How many years, how many fruitless sermons, and how many dollars will it take for the institutionalized church to wake up to reality and leave the ways of the Old Law behind. How many purposeless revivals, how many overly useless trips to manmade altars, and how many selfish Pastor’s anniversaries will it take before the institutionalized Church succumbs to the ways of the Old Covenant. All through the New Testament Paul repeatedly warns and teaches us to get away from the things that were imperfect. The bible teaches us that if those things had been perfect there would be no need of a New Covenant. However; every Sunday morning the institutionalized Church for the most purpose mimic the ceremonies of the Old Covenant. In the Old Covenant, the people of Israel knew the Law as a kind of straight jacket. If they failed to perform, they had to suffer the consequences, often by being stoned to death. They still broke the Law because they lacked the heart change with the necessary motivating Force within. Isn’t that’s what goes on today. It’s nothing more than performances to “do this”& “do that”. Very little in the church today has any importance in God’s kingdom because it nothing more than Old Covenant rituals and ceremonies.
Yes, people are still teaching and preaching The Law from the pulpit every Sunday. Most churches want to be like the Temple(Herod’s). The pulpit is claimed to be holy ground. The church ground is consider holy. Only certain people can enter the pulpit. The pulpit is the holiest of holy. Can’t you see that this is Old Covenant theology. Most of these beautiful churches are built in some of the most rundown parts of the cities. Yet; communities around these churches are economically starving to death. The religious system in America is as big a shame as the Old Covenant was shown to us to prove that we could not keep it. The modern religious system does not build up the body of Christ. We are still in bondage if we are living by the dictates of our flesh instead of the Spirit of God. If I have to show up in church every Sunday morning to be blessed, that is bondage. If I have to tithe to keep from being cursed, that is bondage. If I have to join a certain religious group to be saved, that is bondage. If I cannot talk to God except I go down to a local church, I am in bondage and still living under the Law. Christ and the New Covenant has made me free. I am no longer under bondage. John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24: God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.. The time has come when people can worship where ever they choose, it don’t have to be up in these man made building called churches.
I tell people all time; “you don’t have to join my church or anyone else’s church to be able to be in the presence of God.” “You don’t need to belong to a particular church building or group to be saved.” The presence of God is just as prevalent in your living room as He is in any church building. Acts 7:48 However, the most High dwells not in temples made with hands; as said the prophet,. Scriptures explains to me that God’s throne is in Heaven and earth is His foot. If this is the case we need to stop all this nonsense about church buildings being called “the House of God”. Acts 7:49:Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will you build me? said the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? Church buildings being called “Houses of God” is nothing more than another sacrificial offering in the order of the Old Covenant. God is not impressed by us building massive church buildings that are empty of people most of the time. He is not pleased when there is homelessness and hungry people all around a brand new 20 million dollar church building. Can’t you see this only pleases the flesh.
I would like to call the church hierarchy and laity to repentance. God is not pleased with this religious system that leans toward religion and not God. People; we honestly needs to repent and ask God to forgive us of this sinful, worldly and evil Old Covenant Christ rejecting system called “the institutionalized church.”
I for one am sick and tired of this numbers game that goes on every week. People are boasting about who has the largest congregation. Whose church building is the largest. Whose Pastor preaches the better. How much money we raised. It’s all a numbers game. Straight from the flesh and the pride of life. More members more money.1John2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. The most hideous and shameful con game from the Old Covenant is the curse of the tithe. Tithing is as Old Covenant as you can get. There is no curse in the New Covenant nor is there a commandment to tithe. To teach tithing is to teach The Law and for one to teach part of the Law they might as well teach all the Law negating the sufferings of Christ to instill new promises to the Jews and Gentiles alike.
Do we have an agreement with God? Has he promised to give us certain things through his Son(without all the ceremony and rituals of church services)? Yes, he has. We have an agreement, and an agreement with God is a covenant. We have a covenant with God, and it is the New Covenant. Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. It tells us that Christ’s covenant “is founded on better promises.” For the New Covenant that God has given us, I adamantly pledge my allegiance to the New while disavowing the Old. When will we as a people accept what God has given us? The institutionalized church is searching for something that God has already given us and that is better promises. The better promises are already ours without all the peity and petty performances that takes place on Sunday morning. Can we truly accept that? The spirit of God is in my heart and the New Covenant(with better promises) frees me from religious ceremonies and rituals.
Let’s look at one thing. In bringing about the New Covenant Jesus would have the disciples to preach the Gospel to all the world and then the end would come. Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. A few year later Paul says “the Gospel has been preached to every creature under heaven”. Col. 1:23 If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature who is under heaven; of which I Paul am made a minister,. Notice here that Paul ratified the fulfilling of the so called great commission did he not? After the Gospel had been preached to all the world Jesus said “the end would come.” Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. The “end" that Jesus is talking about here is the end to the Mosaic Covenant and the things of the Old Law(the Old Covenant). That was the main purpose of preaching the Good news. It was to tell of the better promises that was to come. They have arrived. They are here. I accept. Why don’t you along with the institutionalized church join me in accepting the new covenant that Jesus is ministering. In accepting the New Covenant we no longer need to teach others to Know the Lord because he is in our heart. Hebrews 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. God said it.
